Chromebooks are the Future at Forestdale

We are living in an age where technology is all around us! And ya know what, it really can be totally awesome! Forestdale has decided to join the 21st century world of education by purchasing Chromebooks for grades 5-8. We are now a Google Classroom!

Every class has a "Class" in our online classroom. For subjects like Science and Social Studies, Google Classrooms are amazingly helpful because the information needed is right at their fingertips. Even other subjects like Reading and Bible have found their way into our online classes.

Now, we haven't gotten rid of the ol' paper and pencil, so don't worry! The staff at Forestdale is simply ensuring that our students will have a better knowledge of the tools used in today's educational world. And the kids absolutely love it!

Working hard on our shiny, new Chromebooks!

The learning here is intense...

Oh yeah, we're are totally excited about our Chromebooks!

Our Tabernacle

Before the Forestdale kids went on Spring Break, all grades got to study about the Old Testament Tabernacle. They discussed how what seemed like a ginormous tent was just an earlier form of our Church that we attend every Sabbath. They examined the different design that included the Holy and Most Holy Place. Since Easter was fast approaching, one of the biggest areas of conversation was the lamb that was sacrificed. After explaining the process and how God approved the sacrifice, the students were encouraged to think about why we don’t do that today. Can you imagine coming to church each week with a precious lamb? An innocent lamb being slain for our sins seems almost cruel. Yet that’s exactly what our Savior, Jesus Christ, did for you and me.

Though our tabernacles may not look exactly like the one from the Old Testament, we still understand and appreciate our “new” church and what that place of worship means to us.
